Yep....wife tested out the Iron Man bumper this morning....big mature doe hit the '11 GX head on @ 60+

Luckily not much traffic & she stayed in her travel lane.....Deer was DOA

Just a quick peek on the scene...no loss of any type of fluids....

Left head lamp gone.....think the deer's head hit it....hard....

Light bar went through grill...hood corner is damaged but still opens/closes

Bumper is tweaked downward...no rubbing...trim behind bumper is fugged

Insurance adjuster asking for pics instead of an on site exam ?? We're 2 hrs from anywhere

Yes..called the SO for accident report.....she continued her 12 mile commute to work....

Pics to follow.........:frown:

Venison?? It'd be nice if your wife can bring it on home! 👍 You'll be eating good for a while!
Oh and by the way, hope your wife is okay also!
Don't want to be too insensitive, but I just saw all that meat!

Don't think you could salvage much of the meat....

5500# @ 60 mph....square hit.......

this was her first ever real accident in many yrs of driving....

Pretty rattled about killing the deer...

They can be adjusted up if you find illumination is lacking... I also replaced my bulbs as they dim over time. Biggest improvement was going LED for the highs.

biggest damage (to the eye)

Glad to hear that she wasn't hurt. It looks like the bumper faired pretty well honestly.

Number one thing is that your wife is ok -- and although it sucks that the GX is beat up a bit, it was probably a really good thing she was driving that well-built rig instead of most other vehicles as it probably really reduced potential physical injury.

Hope you are able to get it fixed back up quickly and without too much hassle from the insurance company!

For a square hit at highway speeds...that good. Looks like the bumper helped prevent serious damage and potential injury for the wifey.

I can imagine she's a bit shook about the deer, I know my wife would be too...but if a situation where it could've been the deer AND her...we're all glad it was just the deer. Sounds like she did good not to swerve drastically at 60+ MPH, which is good. I try to reinforce it into my wife's driving habits that no animal (with exception of a moose) is worth swerving for, ever. Hit them head on, every time, it's the safest way.

Need some advise on possibly replacing both headlights with aftermarket ones

The low beam HID's just don't do it for me

If insurance OK's....what's available & suggested for a better setup from the MUD crew ?

I had a 2020 GX loaner last week and I have to tell you...those LED headlights were one hell of a setup. So good I could bet you I wouldn't get extra off road lights if I had one. No extra light bars, ditch lights, etc needed...they're crazy bright.

Looks like you need all the parts that would be required to get you to a facelift anyhow....just saying.

Other than doing a '14-'19 facelift conversion I've never seen any 3rd party retrofits of 10-13 headlight assemblies. Just different bulbs.

What are you running for bulbs in the DRL/Highs? Did you upgrade to LEDs there?

You could be the first to convert one to a 2020... 3rd party headlights with 14-19 chopped bumper and grille.

Got the estimate from insurance back.....$6225

The Iron Man bumper is classified as a 'Judgement item' $1299

Wanting to get in the shop for their estimate next day or so

3rd party parts replacement but that is just a stock "halogen" low beam replacement. I thought you were looking for options that had better illumination? or are you looking at taking a Halogen unit and retrofit with LED bulb instead of HID?

Headlight connector would be different from your stock HID. I can't remember offhand... will have to look at CL threads on how this could trigger AFS fault messages.

Man

these headlights are confusing

Looks like we're just going with OEM replacement(s)

Glad the wife is ok. Poor deer, what a way to go.

I will say this has sold me on that Ironman bumper.
