Dumb question, Is there any issues with timing the block? I want to spin the engine to get at 2345 pistons and tidy up 1 and 6. When I am done just put back at TDC and orient the sprocket correctly? I know to wire up the chain to keep it out of the abyss. Am I missing anything?
No you can do it, but the sprocket is going to need to rotate as you turn the crank. Easier with another set of hands, have them keep tension on the chain and roll the sprocket as you turn the crank, go slow.

It’s been discussed a million times over the years on MUD. A 5 second search will yield you the answers.
Are you talking about the checklist of things to do while the head is off? I have all of those parts except hoses. Or are you telling me there are other gaskets that are not included in the kit? I am a big ol idiot and do not even know what to search. Sorry.

Got my head back today, but who cares? If my 80 lives or dies will be up to the search engine. Spend 5 minutes searching for it.

I went and looked at my order. I think the distributor to block oring ended up being included. I may have sourced some other gaskets more locally which will make them harder to find in my email.

I cant find any other orders from that time period. Keep in mind mine was a total rebuild so you may not need everything I did.

When I am done there will be a postmortm that includes everything I had to find that was not in the kit. Was any one told to get a fuel pressure regulator? My injector guy told me to get a Standard products or Beck Arnley . Seemed like a good idea.

Ever order from these people?

Well this should have sucked way more than it did. This truck is way to good to me. All I had to do was hammer it around with a punch until I could grab it and screw it out. Not sure why it broke and I sure don't know why it was at the top of the hole. I felt it break when I removed it, was dreading having to deal with a broken head bolt. Turned out to be nbd.

So far I can only find one thing that is not in the kit. Oil pump cover gasket, I have one around here somewhere. Included in my kit, distributor o ring and thermostat gasket. But I have yet to really get started putting her back together.
