As my last trip as an unemployed guy, I was able to squeeze in my annual trip to Death Valley with a bonus trip to SnT. Not a bad way to end my lazy arse bum career, if I do say so myself :D

I flew into Reno and Spressomon picked me up in the uber cool hundy and off we went to DV where we met up with TrickyT, Cruiserdrew and Beno. Beno pulled an all nighter after work to get to the meeting place on time.

The temps in DV were absolutely fantastic and so was the food and drinks. As usual, I ate better camping than at home.

SnT was a neat experience as well - got to put lots of faces and names together finally. We arrived at Pismo Beach on Thurs eve and departed on Sat before high tide rolled in.

All in all, an epic trip.

It looks like you have had some fun the last week or so. Nice pictures. Congratulations on getting a new job.

As always, another epic trip with the a NorCal contingent, Dan and Ali....also my last trip at least till the spring. Splines on my sector shaft are twisted meaning it's time for the upgrade to 105 series sector shaft/pitman arm and a gear box rebuild.

Cheers.

Great looking DV trip; like to make that myself some day. Thanks for the photos.

I'd highly recommend taking a trip to DV. It's geologist's dream come true and the wash boards seriously punish your rig. I hope to return next year....some how.

Nice pics Ali. Damn it already seems like its been a month since we were there! That was one fine trip!

If I could spend two weeks in that place, that'd be FANTASTIC....what an awesome place. Thanks for driving me around Dan, loads of fun was had for sure.

Great time! I almost wish we'd stayed an extra day and gone into Butte Valley.

I think I'll plan a return trip in the spring, and we can visit more of the highlights. Really, we just scratched the surface and there is a lot more to say and do and hike.

That trip is just about the best excuse for a sub-tank.

Until next time...

I've been there once on a field trip almost 30 years ago, but only in a 2WD van. I did take a lot of pictures of outcrops but they're all slides so I haven't looked at them in a long time. It'd definitely be a lot more fun to go with a few Cruisers and friends and no itinerary.
