I have had my LX for 4 months or so now. I've never had even a glimmer of a battery issue. I drove it this morning. Came home and went out 4-5 hours later and it is completely dead. No light, clicking or any signs of power at all.

Battery?

No click? Hmmm...

Any chance you have remote start and could try starting with that?

The sudden nature of it makes me think of issues people have had with the start button itself or the starter.

Have you measured the battery voltage at the terminals? Are the terminals tight?

Holy crap! Never seen this personally.

Well, at least you know what the problem is; one of those DieEasy batteries with an internal short. Pop in a new battery (but not that brand) and you should be good to go.

I could be wrong but it also looks smaller than the proper group 27 200 series came with.

Battery replaced and all appears to be well! Won't lie, the ABS cycling when I reconnected the battery startled me.

@14v I need to do the diode/voltage mod. I have the Ford diode 4F2Z that will be here tomorrow.

Question: Is that good enough? Should I get the HKB MK3 miniblade? Something else? What say you???

Good eye. It was a 24F and less than 11 months old!
I've had a 24F in my LX for a while now. It works but it seems like it's barely adequate. If I leave the LX in ignition mode without the engine running for any length of time, it won't have enough juice to start the car.

HKB helps, but only in coaxing your alternatir to put out more of what it can put out…but what it puts out still won’t get you fully there. You’ll still want to trickle-charge your agm main fairly regularly.
