Dual batteries. Jump start unit (the modern li-ion type). Petrol generator. Solar panels.

I did once in the oz bush see a hobbled together generator for charging up a vehicle battery while camped for a week+ at a time (this before solar panels became more efficient and a LOT cheaper). It was a small petrol motor bolted to an open frame/base with a vehicle alternator (built in regulator or external doesn't matter) hooked up. All cheap/surplus stuff. Might not have met CARB standards though :)

And yeah, I guessed he was going to use the motor from the chainsaw kludged to power the alternator before I watched the video. That kind of kludge/bush mechanic stuff comes naturally to some of us aussies.
