I had read that de-smogging would result in only moderate gains in performance, but the job I did today made a huge difference. I suspect that the real game changer for my rig was the removal of so many vacuum related points of failure. Many of the hoses that I pulled were clogged or corroded.
Anyway the result is a much better running 80 with a much cleaner engine bey.
