Hello folks

I figure it is about time to plan a wheelin day trip.

past trips usually bring in a bunch of people and we have some new members and a bunch of lurkers.

Maybe a George Washington National Forrest run?
I'm thinking April 20

early enough to not interfere too much w/ GSMTR prep and maybe test out some new modifications to your truck.

Wedding to go to on the 20th

I am in for the 20th

"We're going to run what I think is called Waggy's Creek Trail. The trail head is about 1-2 miles from the Ottobine Country Store. It runs generally west-southwest, IIRC. We'll go over a couple of open hilltops (with great views) including Flagpole Knob, and come out vicinity of Reddish Hill or Reddish Knob, at the top of Briery Branch Road (HWY 257, I think). The dirt portion of the trail is right at 15 miles in length. Going slow to enjoy the scenery, and occasional stops for the hill-top views, I estimate it to be 4 to 4.5 hours on the trail."-SAS

I believe the trail is on map 9 here

I figure we can run this trail again unless someone knows of something better.
I've only driven this trail two times a year apart.

We can meet up at the Ottobine Country Store/Gas Station at 10AM Saturday Morning.
Movement to the trailhead by the dam 1030AM

Lunch at that big field we've stopped at before

Head home in the early evening

Make sure you honk your horn as you drive by my purple mailbox after passing unions springs dam :)

Give me a shout on my cell phone if you need any help. Stay away from the forest rangers. :)

Thanks for taking the time to schedule an event, maybe some lurkers (such as me) can make it. Party On!

i am out. I am under contract on a new place and need to time and the money.

Sorry Sam. I really would like to go, but since I procrastinated so long I gotta get the 40 prepped for GSMTR. Once I get through the next 2 mods, I will be down with whenever.

i am really sorry to back out too. A lot popped up over 1 weekend for me with the buy of the new place. I am good to go after May 23.
