Just bought a Dashpad to put on my Aussie HJ45. Does anyone a picture and measurements of where to drill the holes to screw the pad into.
Seems we never got the light under the pad either (just the cutout vinyled over). Are these easy to obtain, are they any good?

Thanks
Dave

I wouldn't get too excited about the under dash light.....pretty dim with the OEM bulb.

yea, they're only any good if you want to see the dash knobs/heater controls. Pretty worthless otherwise. Not.

does your truck have the metal bracket spotwelded to the top of the dash to hold the pad.once the pad is mounted its easy to mark the holes good luck

Hi Thanks for the replies
My truck doesnt have the metal bracket on the dash. Dont want to blindly drill holes into the dash. Anyone got some rough measurements where to drill.
Cheers
Dave

theres nowhere to drill you will need to get the brackets off the donor vehicle and weld them onto your dash before you can attatch the dash pad i looked into this with my old shorty and gave up at that point

my 84 fj45 has the light its next too useless

I have the mounts you may need. I have a dash from a 1973 FJ40 left over from the cowl I bought (I wanted the firewall). I could cut out the whole section so you know where to attach the brackets, so I could just send the brackets (3 of 'em). I'd sell it for basically the cost of shipping and some sawzall blades, since I was getting ready to haul it to the dump.
