I'm trying to remove my dash from the firewall on my '70 FJ-40. There is a weld down each side of the dash where the dash meets the door. I cut these welds but the dash still won't come off. I haven't tried to force it yet because I don't want to damage it. Might try and sell it, or re-use it (don't know which yet). There is a fold at the top of the dash which rolls over the fire wall. Is this just slipped over or does it have stitch welds or something else holding it down? Any info would be helpfull.

Thanks for the help, Chris

I have one sitting on the side of my shop, I will take a closer look at it and let you know. (This is off a 78' 40)

I think that it is pinched down with a tight fit

I removed one from a 78 but ended up not putting it back

anyways
why are you taking it off??
