As far as I can tell, I'm supposed to drive in complete interior darkness at night. Instrument cluster lighting is very dim. Is there supposed to be some sort of secondary dash lighting so I don't have to blindly feel for the right auxiliary switch? It's truly annoying to go for the wipers and turn on the fan instead. I'm a shallow individual and try to avoid being annoyed at all costs :steer:

Dimmer switch works and on full. New bulbs, all working. I'm referring to the little light in the dash pad that illuminates the pull switches, kinda like a license plate light. I could fix the existing one if I could find one. Sigh. Forever looking for parts.

Might help to post what truck you're working with.

73 FJ40. I know it's not much of a challenge. You guys have a lot of neat ideas that I was hoping to steal ;)

Well, if you don't care about keeping the dash stock.

Led strip lighting is easy and cheap to work with.
One could install some illuminated pull switches, but that'd be a pita.

Think I just removed the filter and put in a warm white led festoon bulb
