Got to flex a little today! I need to do some trimming and the back bumper has to go! I have a video, but can't access youtube from this computer and it's my only working computer at this time.

Looks great  I like the ladder on the rear hatch. As for the rear bumper its easy to trim back but you'll want to loose that class III hitch its like a boat anchor and will drag and hang you up. It was one of the first things I did and relocate the exhaust inside the frame from getting smashed.

Yeah, that hitch is a garden plow.

Was one of the first things to go on mine...

Just messin'... I was getting ready to scratch these up for the first time in Sicily, but the guy in the brown shirt figured he would break them in himself! They were scratched and even gouged through the powder coating down to the metal in some spots. They took me about 2 and a half hours to install these by myself, with the passenger side being a real PITA! Pay no mind to the dirty truck behind those MT sliders!

They look great Justin , sucks UPS had to to toss them around and scratch them before you got a chance.

Lunch Wrenchin'

I know this is minor, but it's so quick and easy I had to post it up. I saw this in the main forum yesterday, so I ordered two struts for the rear hatch from McMaster Carr. They showed up today... whew that was fast! So I figured I would put the supposed "25 min installation" to the test and it was at least that fast!

I used a pack of 5/16"-18 jam nuts from Home Depot. I used one to backspace the strut stud from bottoming out on the D pillar (see the first pic). It still touches a little, but I'm not worried about it. Tools used in the second pic...

Nice I need to order a set too, can you post up the info where you ordered them? :)

Yes sir... Here you go
McMaster-Carr

After the page comes up, the shocks should be in the left hand column already. Just input you qty and click "ADD TO ORDER". It's not very user friendly from there, so if you need a hand let me know. Oh yea, they are less than $30 for the set... well worth the money compared to OEM, especially if your continuously bumping your head like me!:)

Now that is some hard core tech information :flipoff2: . Man the guys in the cubical next to me turn to see why I was laughing.
Thanks Justin I needed that with the way my work day is going.

Judging from the Sicily pictures, I'd see about investing in:

1. a winch... I found you one:

2. some new tires.. found some

:lol: I don't think I feel up to an engine, tranny, and t-case swap to get that pto winch working... I think next time a couple snatch blocks from the start will do the trick!

I hope I didn't jinx myself:whoops:

Note to self: Make sure on the next ride I am not behind Justin. :hillbilly:

I would prefer to b ahead way less trail damage to contend with:)

The dual winches will be a nice addition :)

Tailgate Storage Hatch

Ok, this one is for you Scott. I found this on hear some time ago, but the vendor is Wagon Gear, and here is a link to the website. Kevin Rowland is the owner and a super nice guy to deal with. I know that he is in the process of moving from the East Coast to the West Coast, so he may be out of pocket for a while. He makes these for 60's, as well as interior rear quarter panel storage for 60's with ones for the 80's in the works. Anyway, installation was really easy and it's going to be the perfect place to store that much needed recovery gear:lol::lol: The options that I chose were the "Grip" surface on the lid and the "New Standard" Latches. The only thing I have left to do, is to add a sound deadening material on the inside, to keep the snatch blocks from beating up my tailgate and cut down on the noise of the junk stuffed inside. It would take me tremendous amount of effort to fab something up like this myself, and I don't think the end result would have been as professional.
