Tragedy = something bad happens to you.
Comedy = something bad happens to someone else.
The Three Stooges became the comedic masters of their time by using impeccable timing to inflict tragedy upon themselves. Seinfeld's series finale played off this, too (as did many of their episodes). Class dismissed.
