Did a pretty good job on it. What was i doing? Was playing around with the CDL, and I think i turned too hard. BANG!. Uh oh....Not using that anymore..
Got OEM replacement but there is some kind of cover that got bent, so looking to source that now.
I tell you, my GX is cursed!... (although this one was self inflicted, technically)
Lesson learned, and never wheel alone.

Is that at least OEM CV shaft? Parts store aftermarket are known to be a lot less strong except RCV/Porsche/Lotus CV joint.

new one is, not sure about broken. I'll try to identify when i get the rest of it out of the diff :)
 
Post a pic of the side that goes into the diff. It's easy to tell OEM vs. aftermarket on that side.
 
Curious if you were on pavement or loose dirt when you had the center diff locked?
 
Even a small amount of throttle will easily break a CV if you have traction and the wheel is turned a bit. I've seen it happen a few times now on various IFS Toyotas
 
Probably a Chinese aftermarket.
