I'm sure that I've read this on here before, but can't find anything using the search function......

I have just installed a lift on my 60 and the U bolts hang down too low, particularly on the rear. I was going to cut them with a hacksaw, but then thought my reciprocating saw would be better (quicker). What have you guys done?

diegrinder with a cut off wheel

Botha recip saw and a cutoff wheel work. I still think its a PITA.

grinder with a cutoff whell or the grinding wheel. both worked on mine. reciprocating saw seems fike it would work too. Skip the hacksaw though, unless you are trying to beef up your forearms.

LOL! I thought it may ruin the thread if I used a grinder - Grinder it is then. I'll get onto it tomorrow!

It's ok if it ruins the thread. It'll keep the nuts on should they ever loosen up. From my understanding you should never re-use U-bolts. Plus they are relatively cheap.

grinder and saws all ..... both work good , if you have to remove and reuse the nut coming off will clean the threads so you "can" get them back on... but as said before its better to get new ones
