After I had the bodylift done the rear bar looked stupid and that as well as the tow hitch was getting in the way offroad. I decided to make a new bar complete with a swing away tyre carrier.

So after heaps of research (mostly on here) I decided on a design and started making it.

I cut out the rear cross member.

And flipped the tow bar to the top of the chassis rails.

Fabbed and tacked up the new rear bar.

Made the rear tyre carrier.

And bolted it on! Sounds easy!

Since I added an after market tailgate strut.

And bought a drop hitch to clear the tailgate.

It took me ages to build and I had to redo a couple of things as I mucked up on first attempts. But I'm happy with the result.

damn thats one of the coolest if not the best custom rear bumper ive sen yet. that looks great...

Pretty cool, even though I'm not big on front or rear tubular setups. Great job on the swing arm too.

I can dig it, what type of spindle did you use for the tire carrier?
