Hey - thanks for removing the 'damage multiplier'! The black triangles are indeed gone and I'm surprised (pleasantly) by that. Now you might as well keep unbolting to get the "real" damage multiplier off - heh. By that, I mean the entire grill guard is what we have dubbed a damage multiplier due to its tendancy to make a gentle bumper tap into a hood/fender replacement when they bend backward into the sheetmetal.
Anyhow, thanks for the hard work you put into clearing that issue up.

, now we just have to :shotts: the newbie outta me!!
Doug, you have taught me a lot about my lamps for better or worse but it was still beneficial to know. I know I could've got the heck outta Dodge when the heat was turned up but I felt that it would've left many here in the dark. What I have revealed will either make some feel it's worth a shot to give it a go as the lighting is sufficient enough to live with or shun them altogether and go another route but either way, many questions were answered. I would definitely say the safest way would be the HIR way but if your like me and want a new look, then give these or the Euro's a try. You can always put them back up on
ebay anyhow!lol They're inexpensive and do take the precautionary measures of caulking them to seal them well like Mot advised. I know I haven't experienced any moisture problems yet but where I live, we don't have the extreme elements that some of you guys face. I also bought the nice looking clear/red tail lights and I do see the moisture buildup in them when I wash the rig. I'll be caulking them as well. For those who want to know more about whether these can be retrofitted with better projectors, I will be pulling them apart as I want to replace the exsisting LED's to amber colored ones so they can work with the turn signals. From there, I will see if the projectors are removeable for upgrades.
Also, it was mentioned how these projectors are aligned high and may need adjusting. As Cody mentioned, these were most likely designed by and for the racer scene. I'm not sure but if these same lights were installed in normal vehicles, they would be sitting about 24" from the ground but being on our taller rigs, they sit over 36" high, so that could make them appear they are misaligned but either way, I prefer the light beam higher anyhow as the vision is enhanced. The bad part is, I could be blinding oncoming traffic. I have yet to be flashed but I want to make sure I'm courteous to oncoming traffic, so I had my wife drive the rig on a stretch of road where I can drive opposite of her and I didn't see a blinding problem but I did see the cool xenon colors it put out!

I'm not sure if all these lamps are built the same, but if your's does blind oncoming traffic, then I would suggest realigning them.
