J - sent you a long PM discussing sliders, dual swing tire carrier, and a winch plate.

@SharpasMarbles sliders are ready to go... @jfnall I got most of your slider pieces chopped. I'll get them tacked up next week.

So about those gussets... Didn't mean to open a can of American pride worms.

I just like my cold beverages and my country.

No worries J, Send me the opener plate and I'll see if I can make a different non-flag style and incorporate it into the builds..

Deposit for sliders sent :bounce::bounce2:

J et al,

Sometimes one doesn't appreciate the USA until they live in a third world country. I don't mean visit as a tourist either. Too many things we take for granted here others would kill for. Just the amount of food wasted a day is enough to make me mad. I'm gonna cut my response short because I'm going in a meeting, but bottom line is. Murica, F--- yeah! !!!!!!!. If you don't like it, try living in Dirkadirkstan.
This is fact. Go third world for awhile to appreciate home!

Got a 40 front bumper and it is AWESOME. Fit perfectly and J sent me several pictures to figure out options before he built it. Shipping was really fast. Welds looked great, but I powder coated it right away.

Anyone ask about bung'n the sliders for air yet? Just wondering if that's a possibility rather than dealing with a tank.

One slider rail has approx. 395 cu in of volume. A 35" tire has approx. 6500 cu in. Won't hold much air at all. Also, the pneumatic load on metal, even at 150psi on a part that can be ruptured = not my cup of tea. Especially for a spotter or spectators.

I have an engineering rupture calc from when I use to have to design pressure tests for piping systems. Pneumatic loads can get extremely dangerous. 150psi doesn't seem like much, but combined with a small piece of metal, its a bullet.

Yes air is really a bad thing under rupture. Water not so much. I worked in the paper industry for a while - long while - and early on was involved in a hydro test of a newly repaired power boiler. We took that thing to something north of 3,000 psi as I recall, and it was a bit unnerving standing close enough to read the gauge while hearing the boiler tubes groan .....

Guess I'm back to the retired extinguisher/s mounted to outside frame rail plan then!

Can't wait to see the new 80 rear, started setting pennies aside for it hoping that by the time I get my tax return in early February you'll have some ready to ship!
