curious, since i am looking with my heart and not my head

thanks
so the new guy is here now and helping fill the hole in my heart.
sadly, there are still waves of grief that flow over me. much more seldom now but still as intense.
the little guy is completely different from the old boy. but that is what is unique about life ... everyone is different.

introducing Amigo ...

We never forget the ones we lose, and that's a good thing. The new ones help us move forward and heal. That's also a good thing.

I like huskies but...

I hear they eat everything. Missing that underwear? see if it poops it out. I love the color markings. One of the dogs from the WaltDisney tv show Snowdogs was taken care of down the street in a Dog kennel and wow, that thing had some remarkable markings.

Our sheltie is maturing. Still likes to pick up paper off the ground and walk off with it. Has dug some holes in the ground. She now can count fingers If I show one finger or 5 fingers. She has a very very sensitive nose to smoke or odors generated from grease hitting the element. I was wondering why she was franticly pacing back and forth last night and then jumped onto our sofa for the first time and climbed up my body to my head shaking like a leaf and panting. Told the wife, the chicken fat is hitting the elements or, it is creating to much small. She turned on the fan, opened the door, turn on the helpa filter and she settled down.

I am learning html CSS and perhaps some javascript and have a sample page I am making on shelties and will toss in some videos on our dog. :)

please stick up the vids.
yes, he LOVES shoes. he sleeps with his nose buried in them. he carries them around but so far no chewing of them.
we give him knuckle bones and he chews and chews and ... well you get the idea.

some more recent pics:
he is getting big already, 21 lbs and i predict 100 at full size.

Great spectacles. He is a gorgeous pup, Wayne. Congrats on the new addition to your family. I like the pic of him singing. Makes me miss my Siberian/Malamute mix. Huge boy too. Does he have giant Malamute in the mix?

thanks FT, he is quickly growing ... both on me and in size.
he is now almost as big as Billie Jean, i had forgotten how fast these guys grow!!
i will take a pic today and post it up.
sadly, no Great Malamute lines. i wanted a great Malamute this time around but when i showed my wife the pics she wasn't so enthused. she is 5'2" tall and Cruiser could look her in the eye (actually stood taller than her, but i never bothered to tell her.
Billie has really come alive although now i seem to feel she would like a couple days off from the puppy's energy.

He is beautiful, Wayne. Keep the pics coming.

Great pictures, love the last one with the baby. Amigo is like "what the hell is that and the noise that's coming from it!!!!!!!!" Great all the way around, glad he's easing the pain for you.

Love the first pic. My cats are about the same colors, the contrast always makes me :D.

middle of a storm we decided to take the dogs to the beach.
winds were roughly 60 - 80 k/h
walking with the wind, if you turned sideways or into the wind it would take your breath away.
the snow ranged from 6" to over 3' deep but nice hard crust.
the dogs loved it
that is Lake Huron in the back ground. i would guess the ice wall is over 14' in places from the wind busting up the ice flow and shoving the pieces against the shore. walking on the lee side of the wall is not recommended. there are some deep holes and in places the ice isn't very thick.

here is a more honest pic of our cat, he is a scrapper. you pet his head and neck and it feels ... interesting. the scar tissue beneath the hair is massive. if you were to shave him i am betting even old Frankenstien would look better.
you can see the scar where he almost lost his eye. chunks missing from his ear, hair missing in places. he takes no crap from the dogs but sure does put up with a lot before loosing it on them.
he also has no issue with snuggling in with the dogs when HE wants to.

interesting family

Cute pup Wayne, love Huskies!

its been a while and the little guy isn't little any more
some rough housing, Billie is trying to keep the puppy in place but i feel those days are numbered.
when he tries to bite we pull our hands/arms in against his mouth so he can't close down. this seems to stop the dogs from doing this.
