The lid for the front cupholders and small storage space on the center console won’t click shut anymore. Any ideas what it might be and how to fix?

I can tell you don’t try to force it because I did and mine is now in the LC parts box in my garage.
The mechanism can easily get gummed up if any crud or spills get down in there. Best to just remove the console top and cup holder unit and clean it out. Pretty easy to do.

Will do that. Thanks for the tip! As a matter of fact, it really looks like something spilled in that storage space
To remove it, just pull UP on the cupholder lid. Don't Hulk it, but it will pop out with the cup holder and lid as one unit.

I think you guys don’t figure out what i’m talking about. I have a manual transmission, so my cupholders are under the centre console armrest, not behind the gear stick
I'm not familiar with manual 100s or 100s from europe. I gather that you're not talking about the two on the level of the automatic gear selector that we have here in the states.
Do you mean the upper armrest cover that houses the cup holders? So that whole armrest won't stay closed?
