Rick,
Excellent pics you guys took! thanks for sharing, and getting some of the hundy.

and the ad copy would be . . .

"The Outback-Back Boot. It's not the man, it's the machine, and when it's not the machine, it's the boot. Made from the hide of the majestic Nauga, the Outback Boot helps hold up Bob as he holds up the hatch of his FJ-62."

For my fellow 80 owners. It turns out the plastic clip that holds the wiring harness away from the EGR pipe at the rear of the engine has been broken. The bundle was laying against the pipe and had burned/rubbed untill two wires in in harness were exposes and shorting against the EGR pipe. Epoxing repair and taping back up with Kevlar shield....Will post pics so others can check theirs.....off to finish repairing.

After I found this, I'm glad I died where I did. I'm amazed it didn't happen when I cut through the creek when I was following JP.

eeewwwwww. glad you found it john; i had the same loom giving me problems last summer but turned out not to be melted but the 6'' extension to like 16 wires for the s/c install was the culprit. oh yeah, that and easy place to work, huh?

thats funny, I always knew I could be a model!!

ill try to get some pics up this weekend
