The camo car covers seem to help "hide" them ;)

Didn't help as much in the winter time but with the snow really wasn't needed. Those are cheap Harbor Freight camo tarps. Last about three years. In the valley less than six months. Two cruisers are under the deck in the last picture. Those were the last ones moved. Those tarps are still in use just not covering cruisers anymore.

Solomon Islands Cruisers

The Solomon Islands were a strategic battle point in WWII between the Japanese and U.S.A. Had the Japanese managed to cut off communication to Australia from the U.S. they would've become part of Japan. More than 42 U.S. ships were sunk, countless Japanese ships as well and of course numerous aircraft.

JFK became a war hero here after his PT boat was T-boned by a Japanese Destroyer going about 30 knots! They swam to an island, he inscribed his coordinates on a coconut and an islander slipped through Japanese forces giving coconut to U.S. forces.

Most of the battles were in the Guadalcanal (Solomon Islands) area in the S. Pacific.

Interestingly, the Japanese rebuild older toyotas' and dump them on Honiara, Guadalcanal. There's a lot of Land Cruisers , just about every other vehicle is a Land Cruiser. Here's some pic's.

^^ Cool!

When I went to the meeting place for the recent Copperstate Cruisers Crown King Trail run, I saw this rig at the McDonalds next to the gas station.

There are so many little details the camera cant catch but it was worth staring at. From noticing that the tines of the pitchfork were really unusually formed Ironwood branches to random bits and pieces all over the truck.

I have seen this same truck sitting up there in that same area several times. Wonder if he works nearby. John

I have also seen that truck in that parking lot several times. I think the guy hangs out at the McD's. Cool old truck though.

I'd drive it
