I'm not made of $ but I have filled it with 98, and 94....maybe 101 next but that's $200/20gal🤔
There is absolutely no reason to use 101 unless you are also going to tune for it. The benefit of higher octane is increased detonation protection and the ability to increase timing, if you just add anything above 91/93 and don't change the tune you are just wasting money.
 
I would pay extra to have the downpipe come pre-wrapped with the insulation. It's not difficult, just messy and I hate the itchy fiberglass. Anyways, this is my exhaust solution for now. Exhaust parts from Amazon-GASP- 6" flex, 10" oal x2.5 flex pipe, 2.25" to 2.5" reducer and a 2.25" lap/band clamp, and a little welding. I didn't want to try and weld old exhaust pipe, hence the clamp. Eventually, I'll have the whole exhaust redone, but for now, this is pretty solid. No need for a support

And yes the 98 and 94 did not feel any differently than 91.

Well, thats why I said turn up the boost if he was gonna run it!
 
I did something similar as you and this part failed after couple of years of running the turbo. Air was coming through the mesh!! FYI.

They do make 2 different flexible couplers.

The one to use with a turbo setup is TurboFlex Couplers with Interlock Liner


Not the Standard Flex Couplers with Internal Braid Liner


But yes these are almost a disposable item. I would weld v-band flanges on them and make them easy to swap because they will certainly die before your exhaust.

Yeah, that's why I said it's temporary until I redo the exhaust system. This will allow me to get the truck running, test everything, then make the necessary changes.

this is great info, thank you Scott. If I had known this, bet I'd still have it in operation.
 
I’m guessing here but I would say the coil are mounted there for convenience and that its all done electronically with pickup’s off the fly wheel and or elsewhere.

I’m sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in.
