I've put about 750 miles on my Cruisers and Co turbo setup that was installed by
@SNLC.
I have the turbo kit with intercooler, but no aftermarket ECU, so I'm limited to what the OEM fuel system can do. SNLC did some testing at 5 and 7psi (measured at the intake). 7psi was leaning out at WOT, so they elected to keep it at 5. Huge power improvement over a relatively fresh OEM drivetrain (SNLC rebuilt engine and trans ~15,000 miles ago). I drove Boise to Ogden, UT on day 1. With 4.56 gears and 35" tires, the trans never kicked down or came out of lockup (in overdrive) on any of the hill climbs. I had the cruise set a few mph over the speed limit, so 72-83 mph all day.
Day 2 I drove Ogden to Durango, CO. There were some steeper grades after leaving the Interstate in Spanish Fork and the trans did kick down to drive a few times, but was still easily pulling grades at 75 mph. I made a few passes on 2 lane roads and the acceleration is impressive at WOT.
Overall, I'm very happy with the power and driveability. I know there are options to get much more power out of this setup, but I'm unlikely to pursue additional power. I filled up once in Moab and calculated mpg was right at 13 after correcting for speedometer reading 2.5% high. This was mostly ~80 mph cruising. I expect fuel economy would be a little better at lower speeds. All of my driving so far has been at 20-40 degrees F. I am interested to see how the vehicle (and air conditioner) performs in the summer months.
