Yep. That's me and you are correct I live in a great location. I have not been too active on Mud lately. Would love to make it to one of the next meetings. I also have a Tacoma and Bronco as Dbenke mentioned. I'm currently searching for a 3rd gen 4Runner.
I sold this 2001 last year, low miles, clean interior and not a dent on it. I hope to see at one of our HAMOMs.

come over to my house on the 20th, we do HAMOM's instead of meetings, so if you need to get something done on your 40 (or other),let us know and we can get you on the list.

Its hard to find a clean one with low miles. I think they have all been passed down from parents to their teenagers. I used to have one and loved it.
LOL! I sold it because it was in great condition specifically to keep it AWAY from my teenage son. Don't ever let a teenager park a nice car in a high school parking lot. With that I bought him a '87 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and a little later my Land Cruiser. His indiscretion has put a few dents in my LC. I had '91 4Runner as a DD for 7 years and loved it, but I prefer the extra shoulder room of the LC. I should have kept the '01 for my daughter, the good driver, but i got her a '04 VW Jetta diesel with a 5 speed.

Earlier in the week the Wando bridge was closed due to this accident, a trailer fishtailed into the oncoming lane. Luckily, the girl (friend of my son) was in a FJ. She needed some medical attention, but she was ok. I've had two friends get into bad accidents in their Fj, and I'm surprised how rugged these rigs are.

Wow. Scary for sure.

You should of seen mine at Windrock man! Erik as my passenger witness! She held her own for sure.

I remember when the FJC was proposed as a concept. Before going in to production, I thought they'd be about Samurai sized. They're pretty beefy! I'm not surprised by how well they wheel - just wish they had a SFA...

Anyhow, just saw a very nicely built dark grey 62 on Old Trolley Road near Publix. Lift, rack, and maybe a bumper?

just wish they had a SFA...
Wish everything from toyota is SFA... but my current Tacoma will be the last NEW Toyota product i will be purchasing.... The TLC will most likely be sold in next 5yrs. And ill be forced into a family 4 door...... but ill will keep my SCed Tacoma, for the hounds, off road excursions and what nots.

I haven't seen that onr, but I'll keep an eye out.

Sounds like it's almost time for a 60 or 80 series!
My 80 is no where near family capable, more like off-roading capable. But i see a Subaru 4 door in my future

38.75" and 6" of lift, needs a ladder for anyone to get into with out assistance.

That's a nice looking troopy! Definitely come see us when you can @4mydogs. I'd imagine there are a few cruiserheads down HHI way, eh? Maybe we could do a lunch or dinner meet-up in Beaufort for one of our monthly get-togethers?

I opened the local paper this morning to see this

included in an article about a construction project.

By way of intro, I live on Hilton Head Island and have been lurking here for some time, wishing I was closer to you all and could get up that way for one of your get togethers. One day my ride will be in good enough shape to make the journey, I hope.

Cheers!

Would love to have you up - and I think @mmacpherson has a great idea! I've been wanting to head down to Beaufort ever since we moved here 5 years ago.

A Beaufort meet up would be great. I'll watch for any word on that. I do work some weekends, so the more advance notice the better. It's very rare that I see another old Land Cruiser on the road hereabouts.

Oh, and just to be clear, that's not my rig in the photo -- I just saw it in the paper. Photos of mine are in this thread from 4 years ago (is that possible? Time flies!)

and it doesn't look much different now except for BFG A/Ts and a flipped bezel, and some dried mud. Most of my time on it was spent getting it to run and stop, so no cosmetics yet. I'm just enjoying it.
