View attachment 1158306 Saw this sweet RHD 70 series on 526 this afternoon. He pulled off on DI. Looked like it was almost new.
I saw this guy today in Ladson! Looks like a brand new 76 Series GXL. It's lifted and shiny. No idea how he got it over here, but there's no way that it meets the criteria for stateside registration! It was gorgeous, I hope it doesn't get crushed...

Pics? Did you card him?
Pics - or it didn't happen. We shall have a beating ceremony at the next HAMOM for not turning around...

Unfortunately, no... He was turning the other direction on 78 and I was doing 45 at the time... Been driving by that garage almost every day and still haven't seen your red FJ45 yet.

I know! Sweet truck, right? I'm glad you've seen it too. I think Greg and/or his wife might have met those folks and they live over near Windermere in W. Ash. I'm curious to talk with him about that truck and find out what year it is, etc. Next time I see him I'll try to connect

Spotted a mostly stock looking FJ40 yesterday turning off Wando Park Road onto Long Point - dark green with white roof and a black roof rack. Couldn't get my phone out in time to take a picture, but the truck had just enough patina that it looked like it might be more of a survivor than a resto job. Don't know about FJ40 factory colors though, so maybe it's been repainted?

Streit Armoring on Palmetto Commerce in N Chas has a white, 4 door BJ79 with 50cal gun mount in the bed, armored glass, super heavy duty spring and link style custom suspension under it. There were 3 guys going over 'work' need to be done to it. It had an import pass to allow it off the port and up to their office.

Had a militarized interior, an actual 'Land Cruiser' molded snorkel, full float - locked hubs, custom air lockers (not ARB, per the three guys out from). It was a turbo diesel v8 from what I could tell - at least by the badges. He said it won't pass US emissions. I bet.

I asked if I could take a photo of them side by side, but the least technical, and most tactical of the guys politely said 'Sorry, but I can't let you do that'. I would have taken one anyway, but out of respect for them letting me walk around it on their property - I figured I was better to not.

Googled a similar truck on the web:

If the owner of this happens to see this, say hey!!!

I talked to the owners son (who was driving it) and told him to tell his dad about us. he didn't know if his dad would be interested or not. He is gone in the Coast Guard now, so should have been dad driving. Nice 40, though

A 40 (or any LC) that badass HAS to be part of the club, by default.

Met Pedro from Brazil, a current FJC owner and former Toyota builder?
