Due to some unfortunate events this weekend my cruiser ended up on its driver side in the lake. :censor: it was about half under water. Its out now and really isnt in too bad of shape but I was wondering if any one had a list of things I should check to make sure it is ok and to get the most out of my insurance to get it fixed up. Any ideas would be appriciated.

I was up for a bon fire and driving between the edge of the lake and a steep incline. I had to air down my tires to get out of a jam after getting stuck. Later with my tires still aired down I blew a bead on 1 tire. I was stupid enough not to have a spare and it was dark so I left it over night. Came back the next day and the lake had risen and eroded the sand under my tires so much that the cruiser tipped into the lake. Not really even a good wheeling story and a whole lot of trouble for not being prepared to fix a tire. Im waiting for it to dry out before I try to start it. I'm guessing there are some grounding issues because the headlights were coming on and the relays under the dash were buzzing.

heres some pics

Sorry... not tech advice for you. Just a comment:

Holy chit! That sucks!

I would check for handprints on the passenger side......I think someone pushed you over  I just don't think your Cruiser would flop over on its side like that without a little help.

its not as bad as i thought it was going to be. of course change all fluids take all of your relays out air dry them hopefully they are not hurt .the computer is the big question what do the rest of you guys think take it out and dry it or leave it alone and just let the car dry itself out.

There was some oil on the hub too. Are we talking rebuild???

ya something smells fishy here also:flipoff2:

rebuild no as long as you did not try to start it.oil has to go somewhere so it went out:D it will be ok just dont get into a rush starting it

The dirt where we could see tires prints the night before was about 8 inches lower. I suspected fowl play too but there were alot of witnesses who said it just rolled over. But I'll check. Thanks

Ducks pushed it over?:D

Yep that sucks! You should change the plugs and the oil maybe the tranny fluid and you should be fine with the lights...etc once everything dries out. You should also take out all the carpet and interior stuff to ensure you get everything dry and make sure it wont smell. Its not as bad as you think. Good luck! And :censor: I agree someone might have helped it over:frown:

Well, at least it looks like a gentle flop. Like they say, it could have been worse. I'd just check the fluids and crank it up.

Unless you parked on a slope with the suspension completely loaded on that wheel, as in on top of a stump with the opposite wheel, then I don't see how that happened without a "helping" hand.

Sorry to hear that man. Good luck!

Ouch, I'm gonna have nightmares after looking at those pics! Hopefully your computer for the 3fe didn't get wet and short out. From the pics looks like it stayed high and dry.

you might want to go ahead and change out the rear main seal while it's there. can't ask for better access.

:D

it's funny, but that sucks too. good luck with your truck.

You forgot to turn the headlights off....
