I was wondering if anyone has ever done a Land Cruiser car show/swap meet in AZ? I know they have them in California and Colorado but I've never heard of one in AZ.
Every year there is a show/swap meet for old cars in Prescott at Watson Lake and I figured, why not have one for the Cruiserheads? It would also be a great way to get some of you guys out of the "dry heat".

Post up if anyone is interested.

I think it's a great idea. Show off your ride, sell your junk (priceless 'cruiser parts) to others, bench race, maybe throw in a short trail ride. I'm in.

Isn't that pretty much what we do at Sonic? Hone our lying skillz, show off rigs, etc. If someone has junk to sell, post it here and deliver at the meet, works without having to schlep junk that no one wants?:hillbilly:

I am in! I'd love the chance for something more exciting than the lame-o same-o Sonic meet with no offroad train near by :)
Count me in!

Waht about something along the lines of a once-a-quarter (thats once every three months Shannon) meet on a Saturday or Sunday with a simple trail run. Something like a half-day event witht he option of others satying longer if desired.

We could change the location around the valley (east side, North, West valley, or even -gasp- somewhere between here and Tucson) so everyone could have a chance to get in.

Thoughts?!

Sounds like organization to me:hhmm:

Howdy! Anymore thoughts about the "Show n Shine" idea we talked about a while back? I'd have to figure out how to transport 3 rigs, but, hey, I'd gladly suffer that problem. John

Careful! If we don't watch it who knows it might become something like the Rising Sun club does each year. Who would want that? ;)

Rising Sun Rally

I know Kevin... it's something "organized"...

Can't sell stuff there. Also if it doesn't say "Chevrolet " or "Ford" on it it tends to be frowned upon. Or gets relegated to the area north of the Harleys near Home Depot.

I've parked on the NorthWest corner with the "minitrucks" lot with my Troopy and have had swarms of people walk up, I've never been frowned-upon, nor have the Mercs or tuners (at least that I've seen). Anyway the not for sale rules are rarely followed.

We don't want to make a yard sale do we? Parts in the back of the truck &c is not too bad?

I thought most of the cars up there were UFO's. Close to the ground with strange lights all over them!! John

Saturday nights at Pavillions.

I think this is a great idea to at least try once. Ive been there several times and while there are certainly A to Z as far as custom/restored cars go - theyre all "car people" and everyone is pretty cool. I like to check out all kinds of cars and see different approaches to customizing ideas.

They gots tunes jamming from the McD's and a festive atmosphere. I think we'd have a great time - time to move away from the "isolationist" meet place and roll the dice. whats the worst that can happen?

Throw some parts in the back of the truck...no biggie~

plus it's closer to my home :flipoff2:

Thanks for the clarification Eric!!:flipoff2:

I can reserve an entire row if I have advanced notice. It is 20 spots.
They need to be there by a certain time, but it can be done. It won't be relegated to home depot either. Just west of Mcdonalds in the back row. Let me know if we come up with a date I can get going on it. AZFJ's showed up with 23 trucks so it turned out pretty good. Lots of people looking for sure. I think the variety we have would be a good showing. we can make a dinner plan for after the show
what do ya think?
Don

Sounds good! When are you planning for?
