Oh and you beat me by 8 minutes... LOL

Watson Lake in Prescott sure looks nice to me (nice and cool);p. There are camping areas there and it could be a weekend event. Also Overland Journal and Adventure Trailers have their shops within 1/2 mile of the lake entrance and they may be up to offering some kind of sponsorship or items for raffle to help pay for the site. I believe Trail Master suspension, and Centerforce clutch are also local companies that may contribute. Possibly Tim's Toyota as well. It wouldn't have to be only for Cruisers. It could be any Toyota 4X4. All these are just ideas that were going through my head when I was at the lake the other day.

Sounds like something I would like to attend and see all the rides.

ThatWatson Lake show in August every year was always a blast. I used to go up there religiously for about ten or 12 years. It's a nice area for a show and shine. I know they held a HUGE swap at Embry Riddle once or twice too. A Toyota only show and swap would be a WAY cool idea for Arizona, and I'm not opposed to a trip up north to attend either. We get so friggin stuck on what's close that we often lose sight of what's just around the corner and over that hill. My suggestion for a Toyota only Show and swap would be to open it up to ALL Toyota vehicles and not to limit it to a 4x4 only event. I also believe that teaming up with Tim's in Prescott is a fantabulous idea, assuming that's where the show would be held. You also need to think real hard about the "when". While the August swap in Prescott has always been nice swap, but it can still be pretty warm up there. I would suggest a mid October date.

FJ-Junkie... get on it!

If you open it up to all Toyotas you ain't gonna be camping, all you'll get is the 4WD crowd. I'm ALL for making it further north/in altitude for cooler weather any day but again you'll limit participation. Rising Sun does this in a lot in urban hell.

That's not 100% true Scotty. You'd be surprised at how many "Ricer" and the like, would camp for a show like this.

The real question is "How big do you want it to be"? With proper advertisement this could be a HUGE event or a SMALL event. It really dpends on what the organizer's intent is. To make money? Or to simply provide for a good time for fellow enthusiasts?

I was walking around last Saturday at Pavillions and almost had a tinge of want looking at the Supras that were showing up. Shook my head, I'm much more of the All-Trac Turbo Celica kind of guy :) I think I would be surprised at them camping, but I often stand jaw agape at new things I see.

As I have to work most Sundays I don't get longer weekends with my projects but, just personally, I'd like to see it not big but definitely bigger and more diverse than the CSC meets. At the same time, no reason to recreate OvExpo Home when there is a lot of opportunity to keep it original.

I agree Scotty, and OvExpo event isn't what I was thinking. More like a classic car show and swap type of vibe but with a Toyota focus. I built and lived in the air cooled VW world for years prior to LCs and there were many VW specific shows that drew big crowds and had campouts assoiciated with them. You'd really be surprised at how much s*** you can pack in a lowered VW bug and the places you can get to out in the desert in the same car with some careful spotting. I'd like to think that there are Toyota people just as passionate. And we are afterall talking about a grass field next to a parking lot, not a wheeling trip.

I think a "All Toyotas" event would be great. Prescott in late summer, nicer weather, etc. There's even some wheeling around Prescott too... :hhmm:

I would be up to getting out of the "Big s***ty" and into the cool, crime free, 1950's Values, everyone and their kids toting a gun Mecca that is Prescott Valley.... :flipoff2:

An all Toyota event would not be a bad idea but I think a focus on 4x4's would be good to get some of the people out of the woodwork that normally may not go to these type of events. I have met and talked to a lot of people who are very passionate about their Toyota 4x4's but when it comes to finding parts most of them have no idea where to go other than trying a local scrap yard or paying big bucks through SOR. I'm sure most of the people that tinker with Toyotas have a few parts that they may not want or need which someone else may be looking for to finish up a project. Also seeing all the Toyotas in one place would make it just that much sweeter. Any and all ideas or criticism is welcome, like I said it's just an idea that I had and thought I'd throw out.

I like this idea. This just has to start, as all annual events start. No expectations and just get the word out to make it an event that is appealing to the the type of people that would enjoy it. We already have a good start, with the CSC following.
I would be willing to help with organizing this. Let me know how I can help.

So does that mean you need to advertise/recruit on the TaTorra board, and the Infinite FJCs, etc? If we get something going I can throw it up at the AzLCAs. John

Sweet - I love when Cruiser stuff happens in this area. I'm sure I have a bunch of random parts I can fish out of the garages.
