I have been kicking the idea around of attending Cruise Moab 2021... it'd be fun to bring a 406 Montana crew down for the festivities. It's a days drive away (even in a 40, albeit a longer day).

It is one of the best TLCA events at one of the very best off road venues in the entire world. If you have never wheeled in Moab, then you are missing out one of most unique outdoor experiences out there. I consider myself blessed to have been on 5 continents in my life and Moab is still my #1 favorite place to visit.

Tons of vendors come to peddle and promote their awesome Land Cruiser/Toyota products and services. The raffle at the dinner is EPIC, and they give away big ticket items like winches, sets of tires, bumpers etc. Cruiser Outfitters is there, Slee is there, Profitts is there... along with tons of other vendors and they bring SWAG and amazing examples of their builds.

We camp out, wheel all day, make friends and repeat for a few days.

I'm well past the exploring phase for this year and likely to attend. Registration happens within the next month or two and usually fills up pretty quick. If we get a group together we can register together and camp by one another, wheel on trails we want to together. There are trails for everyone, from total stockers (that even heavily modified FJC's can run) to full on rock buggy stuff and everywhere in between.

Personally, I'd expect to take up to a week off work as the cool kids who help put the event on run all over Moab in the days leading up to the event so they get some wheeling in before having to pull off the event. The official event is usually Thursday- Saturday.

Here are the details as of now...

If you're interested post up here and we can try to get the ball rolling.

MOAB is truly an amazing place!
We are going to plan to make time for Goblin Valley State Park. It is about an hour and a half drive West of MOAB so would make a good day trip. Goblin Valley claims to be one of the darkest places on earth with the least amount of light pollution, so maybe an overnighter.... Clear skies would make for some EPIC star gazing!

@REZARF I am super interested. I actually bought a ticket, swag bag, etc , had time off of work, in-laws rented an Airbnb for this year's Cruise Moab that was cancelled.

So if this next year is going to happen I am IN!

Just need to figure which LC to bring the FJ62, The 100 or the GX 460....

Nice Cruisers to choose from. Depends on the trials you want to run and the specs of each cruiser. For me Moab is made for the 40!

I'd be interested in it Drew. Would be taking my 40.

I really hope to have my 40 in shape for Cruise Moab in 2022.

April 12-18, 2021, the main days being the 15-18.
Sucks to suck I guess. Could possibly pull the last couple of days. One week later would have been perfect for me

@REZARF Count me in. I signed up for the email list from CM. But post up here if you find out when registration is set to open. I don't know about CM, but Hundreds in the Hills usually sells out within hours of registration opening.

Yeah it depends on how many BLM permits they can aquire usually. But yes, it usually fills up pretty quick.

@adventurefamly did we want to piggy back off this thread for out MOAB planning trip or start a new one?
also not sure if you wanted to post our plans publicly or not.

Let's start a new thread to alleviate any scheduling confusion. Please, feel free to start one and I will update with the itinerary.
I am currently looking at several different routs, trails, small towns...etc. However, these will be finalized closer to departure due to weather.
Departure date is a firm April 17 for us (Time TBD).

@adventurefamly will do. I’ll start on it when I have access to a desktop. Will be a central location for all the planning and step by steps of our process

I signed up on Sunday with early sign-up. Planning on arriving Wed/Thursday week of the event. Excited!!

This is a bummer. I’m likely going to pass on CM21 and plan a fall trip for those interested.
