Oh man, I've been there more times than I can count. If it makes you feel any better:
1) not just ice and snow--dirt and dust will also cause the problem.
2) very easy to fix, just clean off the logo and area around it and you'll be set.
3) regular cruise control still works
4) also happens on my 2015 Lexus RC-F; there appears to be no real way for Toyota to engineer around this problem.
It was alarming to me when it first happened, but then I began to expect it depending on my driving conditions.

I have optiglass coating on my emblem and it still collects ice/snow and mud/grime. Toyota shoulda put a middle squirter between the headlights, lol

Honestly thats what I was thinking too. I don't NEED a headlight washer button but I sure could use a way to clear off the adaptive cruise sensor...
Well, if it's snowing/raining that bad you probably shouldn't be in cruise control 
I bet a little spray nozzle and a small support bracket wouldn't be difficult to rig up just below the sensor. Splice into your headlight washer line. If you wanted to Macgyver it
So, it's just the adaptive cruise that breaks when you do this?
It alarms even if it's not being used. I get it with extremely heavy rain.

I don't know . My cruise wouldn't work at all
I've read somewhere it's not a good idea to use cruise control during icy snowy weather anyway... Cruise doesn't take into account that you may be slipping out of control... It just wants to keep you at that speed.. So I never use cruise in bad weather anyway... Just my opinion

Well yes I agree 100% but after your drive through or in and out of a snow storm you would use it when it's safe. I just drove to and from Kalispell to Vegas and back .

Correct. Turn on cruise control, hold stalk forward for a couple of seconds to disengage "radar" and use regular cruise control without any of the "adaptive" features.
Has anyone tried this? Would it work on the sensor? Thought I would try it on my ARB lights as well since they are LED (no heat) ice just freezes to them.

I've had the cruise control radar ice up on me like that once. But it was snowy enough that I wasn't running on cruise control anyways...
