Saw you Saturday in Angel Fire. Jealous of your trip!

What a cool place! We loved it there. Do you live up this way? I saw lots of 80 and 100 series trucks, too, mostly soccer mom vehicles taking their kids to ski school.

Moving on down the road... Taos, NM.

im a little behind updating this thread, but weve had some incredible adventures, especially in Utah! We hit the Big 5 and did all the national parks; Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce, and Zion. We then traveled down to Lake Powell and did Page for a couple of days. We did the Antelope Canyon which was pretty insane, followed by the Grand Canyon, Phoenix, then on to Cali!

Moab was insane. Now i understand why its so highly regarded in the offroad community. It was pretty incredible.

The OD just ticked 160k miles and i couldnt be happier with the truck. I have it in the shop in Phoenix getting serviced and they found 0 issues with her. I am changing all the fluids as they are due along with oil change and front brakes. Couldnt be happier with Camelback Toyota. They know LCs and LXs. Thanks to @murf for taking care of everything!

Looks great! Which Thule car top cargo box is that?
Thule Motion XT XL size. The XXL was too big by 1.5” as it hit the rear spoiler. If you don’t have the rear spoiler, the xxl would fit fine. I will say I had two issues with the motion xt. Not sure if it’s a design flaw but the area right above the locking pins developed a crack. Thule and rei were great about getting a replacement but still a hassle. Not a huge deal but two tops developed the same issue.

Ok thanks for the info. Was the cracking issue very long ago? Wondering if the issue has been resolved on later editions. Did it mount ok to the stock crossbars?

They mount great to the stock bars. No issues whatsoever. The cracks happened on brand new cases less than a month old. In fact, the replacement case was broken as soon as took it out of the box at rei. They just gave me one they had in stock.

Good to know. I was trying to decide between the Thule xl and the Yakima skybox before vacation season. This definitely gives me some concern in regards to Thule.

It was very minor and didn’t affect the use or weather proofness of the box. But it was something to be concerned about. Other than that I love the Thule motion. Light, stores a ton, and the locking system worked the best IMO. Their customer service was great.

Love your Utah pics! Was just previewing the area (didn’t spend too much time in any one place) and am now jazzed for a more in-depth trip.

We’ll be going back. So many amazing places. Didn’t even make it up to salt lake, park city, solitude areas!

So we stayed next to two super cool fams in Moab. They had an extra buggy so my son and I rode hells gate with them. It was so amazing, to say the least. Here’s a short drone video I shot of the day.

Hi Kpecks, hope this finds you well and blessed, I am wondering if you could do me a huge favor, we have just purchased a 2006 LX 470, however, you are the only one I have found any trace of that is actively flat towing one or that has outfitted one to flat tow. So, my question is, 1) What do I need to do to prepare it to flat tow? 2) Is there anything mechanical I need to do to prevent damage, ie. drive disconnect, transmission cooler, etc..., 3) Specifically concerning the blue ox baseplate, did you use the one listed on their website for the lx470 up to 2004, or did you use an entirely different one (if so, how did you determine it was the right one)? Any information about how you prepared your 2006 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
