Due to additional electrical needs, I’ve added a remote fuse panel in the engine compartment to manage the power and fuses for my Sniper, fridge, fog lights and Koito headlamp upgrade. I’ve made up custom wires with soldered on ring terminals to run the power from the battery to a Blue Sea fuse box. All terminals for accessories are crimped with high quality ring terminals which have heat shrink integrated. My question is should I upgrade the panel to the IP67 offerings from Blue Sea, given the location? See link below. I’m concerned about water egress into this current fuse box. I’ve ordered these as a potential replacement solution.

This is what the setup looks like now.

Any additional feedback is appreciated.

Thanks to @CruiserTrash for for he fusible link replacement.

@DrRock It shouldn’t be a big deal and the fuse panel you have should be fine. Think about all the other original electrical components in that vicinity that aren’t waterproof/sealed. I ignore my own advice and go with waterproof stuff anyway though haha. I have one of these, and while expensive, it’s really nice, includes a ground bus, and it’s something you can grow with.

Thanks for the shout out on the Fusible Link Replacement Kit! Looks good installed on your inner fender!

Looks good, it’s solder or crimp, never both.

Sneak peak at 62 kit? 😉

When the vehicle plows through a flooded street- it’s gunna get wet.
When there’s a big downpour- it’s gunna get wet.

It’s very exposed and the engine compartment is hardly weather tight.
No vehicle manufacturer would ever wire it up like that. It would be in a waterproof box.

I did pretty much what you did but put everything in a small waterproof pelican case.

Yes, this is my concern too. Given the amount of water crossings we do out here, I'm going to switch to the Blue Sea IP67 rated enclosures and will post pictures once completed so that others can see and learn.
