The next weekend, a local club called Flat Broke & Four Wheelin' held their annual Halloween Poker Run. What a perfect time to "text" out my new / old trailer and take my son, Canaan, wheeling! I didn't want to two trip, so I figured I would just be gentle on the LX... No big deal, right?!? My good friend and club member Jeremy would be in front of me in his mostly Toyota Samurai.

That was cool, except my son kept trying to sneak into "Uncle Jeremy's" rig... I guess I should have brought the gray truck.

The trails had good traction and the Lexus was kicking butt! Then I found a stump by brail... Crap...

I was able to save the front bumper from getting ripped off when we finally got it off said stump, but now the tire rubs on the inner fender. Like a lot...

Oh well, I guess the look on Canaan's face at the end of the run made it all worth it.

Damage report: More scratches, more wheel rock rash, steps even less straight. I REALLY need to stick with wheeling the gray truck on runs like this. LOL! But instead, I'm going to buy a roof top tent (Can't have too many camping options.) and maybe sliders... I'm dumb.

make a trip on up to Metaltech to grab some sliders. Looks like you'll use them.

Yeah, I am finding that the 200 is pretty capable on the trail, but gets a lot more dings and "character" marks than a smaller rig when used properly :hillbilly:

Stop it.

LX people = RICH
Funny used LXs are cheaper than LCs around here. But still the LX is seen as money and the LC is a nice Highlander or occasionally a well built 4R

I love my Highlander ;)

Good enough for Ministers, MP, CEOs around the world, but only good enough for the soccer mom in the US.

Let the rich have the LX :hillbilly:

Nice Sequoia! Yes, yes it is.

I was able to go hunting with my Dad a few weeks ago... Deer where everywhere! Even in camp.

It's a damn good thing we were ELK hunting... God forbid I actually fill a tag this year! LOL

But I do have to say the LX was an amazing hunting rig all week. I have hunted out of both my old 80-series and 100-series in this same area and I wouldn't have traded the LX570 for anything.

Even though we ended up eating tag soup, the hunt was successful. Anytime I can hang out with my Dad around the campfire is a success in my book!

And the 'ol LX even hit a milestone while in low range!

Trailered the gray truck to my Dad's for the weekend to get the 8274 mounted. (You can read the details in that build thread. There is a link in my signature.) The LX averaged around 8.7 - 9 MPG over two tanks battling mountain passes and a winter storm. I have to say I am super impressed with how this thing tows!

My Dad and I took a trip up to Colville, Washington last weekend to see one of my Dad's old friends and to pick up a 1970 Scout... Colville is about 8 hours from my place (go to Spokane and head north for an hour), but the LX was the perfect road tripper as expected. Unfortunately, we had to come home with an empty trailer as the Scout was too much of a project... On the bright side, we got to go fishing!
