Creaking noise when braking out of OME Torsion Bars?

Anyone else get this?

It is kinda making me crazy. I have lubricated and checked everything under my vehicle.

The noise came after installing the Old Man Emu torsion bars.

It feels like it is under my feet when I brake and it is a creaking/popping sound.

It really sounds like the torsion bar is loading up and in doing so, it creaks.

Anyone elses rig do this?

Did you use anti-seize or other lubricants on the splines?
I would also check to make sure you adjuster is not binding against something while it is getting more tension.

This was happening before the sliders and no I did not use anti-seize. Think that could be it?

Did you check the top of the slider mounts against the body?

This did it for me. I had the sliders touching on the front near the body. Lowering then 1/8" solved the annoying creak!

Mine did it...but I assumed it was coming from my rust scaled sway bar being in a slightly different position post lift. Now, about 10,000 miles and 10-months it is gone...

My SwayAWay's creak too. If you hand-rock the truck they creak. Little though. Can't hear on the road or off.

I used lots of anti seize on mine – no issues. Kind of a PTA to remove & lubricate but would be interesting to see the outcome.
Perhaps a poll should be started. You can ask who used lubricant, & who used grease or anti-seize, (& who had other issues).

Maybe try silicone spray to see if it solves the squeek...at least temporarily before taking time/effort to disassemble everything?

Yes, but try some PB blaster.

It is not really a sqeek, it is creeking.

When I installed my lift, I cleaned the brackets and used anti-sieze on all the splines and I have no creaking.

I didn't use the anti-seize. I have had a similar "clunk" but sort of thought I was just overspurng in the rear (went with 866's in hopes of rear bumper and for towing). But went wheeling this past weekend and not quite sure anymore.

My money is on the lack of anti-seize. If you pull’em off and wire brush good, then reinstall with anti-seize, your problem will go away. If your joints are dry, any piece of dirt grinding in there will make noise.
