I asked this question on another thread and got limited response, but does CRAWL sound as horrible to outside observers as it does inside the vehicle?
Yes you can definitely hear it outside of a 200. I read somewhere that the crawl on the 300 no longer makes those noises. The similar systems on Land Rover and the Ford Bronco are quiet, and now Toyota has supposedly eliminated the noise as well.

Yes you can. Have someone film you…and you can hear it on the playback.
 
I think it's been brought up before in other crawl control threads, but it's okay to run crawl control with your rear (an or front) differential(s) locked, correct? The system would just think your wheels are moving symmetrically on the locked axle?

Speed 1 and 2 definitely are louder. The higher the speed setting, the less noise. I typically default speed 3 or higher unless I am really crawling. Note these speed are in km/h (1, 3, 5, 7, 9).
