Just finished the oil pump cover and crank seals. Torqued to spec, ran about 100 miles and no leaks. Just checking underneath and looks like my crank seal may be backing out? I didn’t check on install if it’s supposed to look like this underneath so just curious?

I did torque to spec and believe yes it did look flush but I was looking from the top.

That would worry me. It looks like it was not installed flush and driven far enough inside to seat properly. I can't see how it would move forward unless it wasn't driven in true and far enough to begin with. But I'm not an expert. Just my two cents.

@sakamo " yeah, you may just be looking at the outer rubber dust shield/lip section of the seal which protrudes outward and is partially surrounded by a cup on the backside of the harmonic balancer. (Too dark and wet to go out and get a photo to compare).

Can you take another photo from slightly in front of and above the harmonic balance to show the gap between the harmonic balancer and the timing chain cover?
