Hello Mudders,

This is my first post and need your opinion. The FJ60 shown is on Craigslist where I live. Do you know of it and what about the price? It looks incredibly clean in person. I had a 88’ FJ62 long ago and loved it. Thoughts please on this one... Thanks!

I've been cruising the classifieds for FJ60's all over southern california for the last 10-15 years - I've seen the ad for this one. It looks REALLY sweet, compared to what's out there, but I personally think 28K is a bit too much. Check the VIN number and get a carfax and make sure it's mileage is correct. It appears to have AZ plates on it - so I'd be a little leery about that and dealing with CA DMV. There aren't many all original, unmodified FJ60's out there with low mileage like this. IF it is as good as it appears, I'd be comfortable paying low 20's for it. Just my opinion. (and first post ever here!) AP

(PS - I have an 85 FJ60 and will never sell it. Got it 5 years ago with 158K miles for $9K - and have put about 5-6K into it over the last 5 years - and about 5,000 more miles on it)

It'll probably still be for sale in a few months and maybe the seller will drop his price then.. The only way I buy this beauty is if I want to baby it, not drive it very much, and have it become an extremely rare, valuable, all original unmodified FJ60 down the road.. If I had a spare 30K and another garage space I would do it myself.. Cheers.

Pretty nice looking all around. If everything checks out, driving, mileage and carfax wise, it’s price is not far off. Check the past smog tests, as CA can be a bear. For rust, check Rear frame channel, roof and underneath rain gutter all the way to the B pillar. Check dash pad, front knuckles, AC. All should need nothing at that price. Crawl underneath. I would ask for pre repaint pics, check around the glass to see tape lines, overspray to determine if the glass was removed. Rear quarter seams look stock as best as I can see on the pics. Most likely needs new springs (little sag in the rear). Springs and knuckles can run 3-4K+ if you don’t do the work yourself.

Headlight washer tank is missing

It's worth every penny he is asking!!! Man up and just buy it if you are looking for a non rusted
problem free FJ60..
If this was for sale on the east coast it would be sitting in my driveway. I am sick of dealing with shipping cruisers back and forth..

Expired link. If you can afford to buy and drive without worrying about it getting dinged up then go for it!
