Hello,

just working on getting an old FJ40 running and as i started to work on the carb, i noticed that there was a crack in the wall that separates the two chambers.

Anyone have any ideas on the most economical way to fix this?

Can you patch it?

run with it?

or is there a way to just buy the broken piece?

thanks,

Don't worry about it. Worst symptom is the choke plate will not be able to completely seal off the primary barrel, but it will still work well enough to get the truck running on a cold morning.

Edit:
Make sure the missing scrap is not down the throat of the carb or in the intake.

Thanks!

I'll try it as is,

Wasn't looking forward to buying a new carb!!!

IIRC, Trollhole is selling replacement carbs for a good price

I probably have an extra air horn assembly hanging around if you decide to replace it

Just one? I'll bet if you look hard enough you could find two or three

dozen. :D
