Well as we all know the economy sucks monkey balls and a few weeks ago a fellow associate got me interested in coupons. Now I'm not a pro but every week my wife and I are using more and more coupons and it gets easier, well I figured one way to figure out more deals was to network. After talkin with a few club members I'm not the only one starting off using coupons. So what I want this thread to be is for in store purchases and leave the slick deals/woot thread for online purchases. If you have a coupon deal no matter how small or large post it up, it may lead to a better deal like my toilet paper deal lead to Jeremy posting up a better deal on the toilet paper.

Some FYI bilo will double up to a .60 coupon so you save a 1.20 and publix will doulbe up to a .50 coupon so you save a 1.00. Most stores will match other stores prices especially if you push the issue or leave the product.

If it has an expiration date post it too incase it's a deal we need to act on quickly.

Thanks for the help guys and hope we can all save a buck or two

Diaper deal

If you are on the babysrus email you got an email on 7 bucks off pampers value box diapers 88 count and higher and you can use it at bilo also. expires 1/26

The easiest way to coupon is to go to www.southernsavers.com it's the Mud site of Southern coupon shopping.

A quick tip is that I only buy groceries from the grocery stores. Mainly just Publix as they do B1G1 deals every week, and they run on a cycle. I just stock up and save my coupons when they have something I use and then you won't need it again until it goes B1G1 again. I buy all non- food items from Walgreens, Rite-aid, and CVS. I know you can find better deals by running all over town, but I limit it to these stores because you can burn all your savings in gas. Keep it simple, and get a binder to store your coupons. I was in denial for 3 months about not wanting a notebook, but it is worth it. Just put them in those baseball card plastic pages.

lol my wife would love this thread...

Good tips Jeremy, we are switching from walmart to grocery stores for that exact reason. My wife loves southern savers. John my only suggestion for you is to start now so when you do have kids it'll be easier, cause ask anyone in here and they'll tell you it's tough tryin to do it with kids. And Gabe just let your wife make a screen name for mud....with 4 kids I can't even imagine what your grocery bill is..lol

My wife and I are taking the Dave Ramsey financial peace university class thru our church...on southern savers they have a kit for kids...who knew...it's 54% off with another 10% coupon runs ya 42.50...his stuff makes sense, so this looks like a good kit to teach your kids about money.

I usually just hit this site. Slickdeals: The Best Deals, Coupons & Discounts on Laptops, Computers, LCDs, TVs, Dell, HP, Apple, Amazon The southernsaver is a new one to me. Will check it out. usually I just go to bilo. Get cashback on gas as well they have a mobile site where I can go in and select what I want from the bonus card deals and the buy one get one free. The it saves it to a grocery list on my phone I Becca and I take that to shop by. We also check to see if items have a manufactures coupon. I do have a little pouch we carry coupons in. With these days and times it makes sense to spend 30 min getting coupons. I can save way more money in that 30 min than I could make in my day job. Best thing is I can do it on my time.

Another thing...if you don't have time to clip coupons you can buy them off of eBay...just go and search coupons

Kind of an oxymoron on the cost of that kit don't you think?

Just go on the internet and find his advice for free, or better yet, get a library card and check out his books. All while teaching your kids the value of reading a good book, and using our public library system.

My Bi-Lo is in a bad part of town. Plus I have never come out ahead shopping there instead of Publix. I can go to Publix and spend $200 on groceries and save over 30% everytime. I haven't been able to ever do that at Bi-lo. If I stock up on just sale items at Publix I usually save over 50%.

Seeing how Bi-Lo is based in Greenville, or Mauldin, I can see where you would have more stores and possibly better prices. Bi-Lo is really grasping to keep up with Publix and Harris Teeter. As a SC based company I root for them and should probably buy from them, however it just isn't feasible at my location.

Another tip that I learned. Go to Walgreens and if you get rewards coupons don't frustrate yourself trying to do 6 transactions to use up your rewards coupons at the same visit. However, don't take them home and rely on remembering to use them on your next visit either. I lost $45 that way. Instead, go to Publix, or possibly another grocery store, and hand them all over at the checkout. They will take usually up to 6-8 at a time as they are just manufactureres coupons and the money comes right off the total. Then you don't have to worry about trying to use them at Walgreens and all of there "rules" that go along with them.

If I can find a way to get free TP I will....think about it, your cleaning your hind end and flushing it down the toilet...flushing money down the toilet

Yeah, but if you look at it that way you might be content with just buying the cheapest cardboard you can and using that. TP is something that I will not cheap on. Also, I am brand loyal. Even though I use coupons that doesn't mean I buy Publix brand peanut butter and BIC disposable razors. I still stick to quality stuff, I just try to save a few dollars in the process.

I keep about a 2 month supply or atleast 6 weeks of paper products, hygiene products, and staples that we use like peanut butter, pop tarts, frozen pancakes, etc. They always go on sale every 6-8 weeks so no sense in stocking up more than that. I laugh at all these people with basements full 200 bottles of Scope. If I am going to fill my basement, it will be with rice, flour, water, and can goods. Not soap and mouthwash.

Nah I was being a lil extreme Jeremy, I am mostly brand specific, especially on TP. eBay had coupons for free quilted northern and 2.00 off charmin. I'm thinkin along your same stand point of having about a 2 month supply of the essentials....plus I hate burying supplies out in the back yard ...just kidding

how did i get lumped into a group of hoarders?

if i did smoke pot i guess it would be good to grow/harvest your own supply....maybe even sell some of your harvest to supliment the costs of growing/harvesting. Possibly even turning a profit margin.

I could probably write a book about it.

Would you buy a book about growing/profiting from pot by someone that does not smoke pot or take any stimulants of any kind including caffine or alcohol (believe it or not...due to a recent change of life events i've decided that relegious beliefs/dedication > beer)

don't the mormons believe in multiple marital partners?

I think adding any additional females to my life would lead me to jump off of a very tall building, that includes asians.

No they don't believe in polygamy, anymore.

They just don't believe in drinking caffeine, alcohol, or anything else that harms your body. They believe that anything you do to put your self at a disadvantage when the end of days comes, either mentally or physically, is wrong.
