This part ought to happen soon. Cheap and easy, goes good with beer.

agree

I had talked to offroad about helping me out....I have ZERO experience but have a new carb and a stock fuel pump I want to put in...problem is I only have a pair of pliers and a few screw drivers......BUT....i know a few places to buy beer!!!!:cheers:
I also would love to hand yall tools, once you explain to me what they do, and learn by watching. let me know a date and place

sorry, I'm not screwing with a carb anymore...done with 'em!

Funny Lash.....

JROB, I noticed you needed a tire carrier after the Crawl.

My favorite one is the 4+ from Man-a-Fre.....I love that tire carrier...Cooler rack.

I screwed it up fo sho. Will have one in hand after next weekend

Is there still a full service around? Sign me up....

you live in Canton................so.....I doubt it
He'll have an IPOR after this coming weekend!

thank you sir!

Ca'nt find the IPOR 40 bumper on their site. Any links?

Not sure why but they don't seem to show it any longer. I've been holding on to this one for a couple of years to go on my stock 1975 but that project is going nowhere fast.... In any case, it's a really well built item. I'm sure Jrob will approve :)

Boss man did have one in inventory.
Lash I looked also did not see it. Guess they took it off there site.

Lenny -

I definitely wouldn't mind coming down to Jackson for a wrenching session. Here is what I need to do:

  1. Re-pack front and replace Birfields
  2. Replace rear axles
  3. Install Wild West Fab Rear LCA's
  4. Install Helton Heat Exchanger
  5. Install Painless Dual Battery System
  6. Install ARB 40 liter rear water bladder
  7. Replace charcoal canister

That about wraps up my to-do list. I think that is a good weekend right there. I have a bunch of tools (none as cool as Rob's I am sure)...but, I can be pretty creative at wiring and figuring out how to make something work...that has to be worth something. Oh yeah, I like cold beer.

<<< will wrench for old birf discounts!

I just got some new wrenches from Rob. I have some old tools my dad found on the road.

Things need done.

62.....won't go there.

100 needs and wants

IPF lights hooked up.
Turn signals for ARB hooked up.
Upper control arms need new ball joints. I need a 20 ton press or I have to buy the whole
control arm for 500 dollars. What kind of beer do you drink Lenny? Or what kind of wine does Sheila drink?
Some kind of special diaper changing station for the tail gate. Ask Daryl, Bomar and Mark.

Nolan, you have an 80 to put gas in?

Mark I am thinking of building a jig for the Hi clearance LCA wouldn't mind taking a looksie at your Wild West Hi clearance LCAs

Next thing to do is to start planning a wrench date.

I know a lot of us are going to the Sicily Island ride Nov5-7 so that weekend is out.

I have room for you guys to crash.

that's actually... in 4 days!
dang i wish i could go to that...

I'm down for the following weekends after that.... Thanksgiving weekend is RBD and I will be there... but December is also clear for ANOTHER work party... but we really need one in November...

I would not do high clearance lower control arms. They help get your tires up a vertical face. Without the control arm your tire hits flush and needs to climb 100% of ledge or rock and not 50%.

The way to go with those rears is to get some made out of 41300 Chrome Moly and have them heat treated.

naw maaaannn.... all the rigs getting those have a higher LCA... don't get me wrong, they are very nice. and would be great, but 80 LCA's need to be either raised or moved outta the way...
go look at an 80's LCA versus other (good) trail rigs...

Same goes for the rear drive shaft on an 80... I wondered for years why I was the only person going through rear drivehsafts until one day while sitting under someone elses rig it dawned on me... everyone that i follow has dual-cases so their rear is shorter and more angled up... they just protect thier pinion and they're fine...

i will build and run one of each and see which one lasts the longest :flipoff2:
