I had talked to offroad about helping me out....I have ZERO experience but have a new carb and a stock fuel pump I want to put in...problem is I only have a pair of pliers and a few screw drivers......BUT....i know a few places to buy beer!!!!
I also would love to hand yall tools, once you explain to me what they do, and learn by watching. let me know a date and place

JROB, I noticed you needed a tire carrier after the Crawl.

My favorite one is the 4+ from Man-a-Fre.....I love that tire carrier...Cooler rack.

I screwed it up fo sho. Will have one in hand after next weekend

Not sure why but they don't seem to show it any longer. I've been holding on to this one for a couple of years to go on my stock 1975 but that project is going nowhere fast.... In any case, it's a really well built item. I'm sure Jrob will approve

I definitely wouldn't mind coming down to Jackson for a wrenching session. Here is what I need to do:

1. Re-pack front and replace Birfields
2. Replace rear axles
3. Install Wild West Fab Rear LCA's
4. Install Helton Heat Exchanger
5. Install Painless Dual Battery System
6. Install ARB 40 liter rear water bladder
7. Replace charcoal canister

That about wraps up my to-do list. I think that is a good weekend right there. I have a bunch of tools (none as cool as Rob's I am sure)...but, I can be pretty creative at wiring and figuring out how to make something work...that has to be worth something. Oh yeah, I like cold beer.

I would not do high clearance lower control arms. They help get your tires up a vertical face. Without the control arm your tire hits flush and needs to climb 100% of ledge or rock and not 50%.

The way to go with those rears is to get some made out of 41300 Chrome Moly and have them heat treated.

naw maaaannn.... all the rigs getting those have a higher LCA... don't get me wrong, they are very nice. and would be great, but 80 LCA's need to be either raised or moved outta the way...
go look at an 80's LCA versus other (good) trail rigs...

Same goes for the rear drive shaft on an 80... I wondered for years why I was the only person going through rear drivehsafts until one day while sitting under someone elses rig it dawned on me... everyone that i follow has dual-cases so their rear is shorter and more angled up... they just protect thier pinion and they're fine...

I don't like the bent arms. Make them strong enough to stand the rocks and the weight of the truck and they help, not hurt you....and help protect the driveshaft.
