I've read every page of my top google searches about this.. does anybody know what it would cost?

I know nothing about how these electronics integrate with the rest of an LX.

Can I put in a double din Alpine/kenwood unit in a non nav LX? If it were integrated with a backup camera, how much would a professional installer charge?

There is a big variance in cost. Many factors will contribute to that. Go on to Crutchfield and figure out which Navigation unit you want. Pick a back up camera. Then price shop for those units. Call a couple of reputable install shops for installation cost.

Yes you can put a double din unit in.

I'm just looking at installation costs.. <500$? >$1000?

Ouch, I input 1999 LX470 and it told me no products fit.

I'm assuming I need some bracket to hold them (maybe I can laser cut some?) and some face plate, but the wiring seems to be unique and I keep reading about wiring issues.

Hopefully it can be done for under a grand.. Am calling around for quotes!

I would expect install only to be less than $200.

I am not positive on the LX, but there may be a harness adapter so it is a plug and play change. I know there is one for the 100 series.

With the harness, it is like a 20 min. job.... maybe a little longer. But an easy DIY if up to the challenge.

Also for the LX there is a trim piece you can order. I am not sure which thread it was in, but I am sure you can find it with a little searching. Search radio fascia, LX radio trim, etc..... It is in here someplace. Maybe some one else can just give you the link or part number.

One more thing to think about are your speakers and factory amp. With a new head unit, most are either replacing the factory amp or just by-passing it. Again, I know for my 100 series there is an easy amp bypass harness that is plug and play.

I may not be a ton of help here.... but, hopefully it is....

Ive been seaching for a back up camera to add to my eclipse double din nav unit! ugh its killing me I want my back-up camera!! haha
