I've been thinking about getting some clear corner marker lights (to replace the amber) and trying to wire cornering lights in along with having amber or white bulbs wired to the factory park lamps circuit. Has anyone attempted anything like this on an 80 series? I'm sure the lenses aren't quite right to just stick any old light in there. Maybe the best way to do a cornering light is to mount a few cheapo fogs to the corners of the ARB bullbar, but I don't think I'll like the look.

I have the clear corners, innovative wiring side marker/running light adapter with some switchback LEDs installed. Basically a DRL setup which lights up the side of the road quite a bit. I dont notice how bright they are until the blinker is used at night, the DRL goes off and the side of the road disappears!

Unfortunately it looks like the harness is unobtainium now:(

Man, that looks good with your black paint and I really like the wiring setup/function. Good looking rig. I wonder how bright they appear to oncoming traffic. I can't stand when people have their high beams on or maladjusted headlights so I wouldn't want to cause anyone a headache on my account. You said they light up the side of the road pretty well, does the light fall off pretty quickly (like a flood light), or does it project very far (like a fog/headlight)? Thanks for the reply!

All JDM 80 series have a dual filament bulb in the corner marker for use as a cornering light. Maybe you could do the same?

You could use an LED switch back bulb or something.

I wonder what wiring if any is preexistent to make a dual filament bulb function.

Well if you look at your corner light wiring it is a 3 wire plug with only 2 wires used. I'm not sure how you would add it. I know on my truck the cornering lamp only lights up when I hit the signals while the headlights are on. If only the parking lights are on it doesn't light up.

My truck has a 2 pin connector for the bulb with a 3 pin quick connect just beyond that, but the third pin is a rubber stopper - no wires. I think I may just mount a little cheapo fog light somewhere under the bumper (but out of harm's way), and wire it up custom.
