Hey everyone!

New here, just got my 2013 LC 200 over the weekend - love it. However, we were messing with the cooled / ventilated seats today - nothing seems to happen even when turned all the way down to the coldest setting. Is this common or should I take it back to the dealer?

Thanks!!

Steve

I also have a 2013 LC 200 and my cooled seats work really great, you should definatley know if they are on..

They work great. You should be able to feel the cool air coming through the holes.

Thanks so much for the replies!

So this morning I get in the truck and notice my rump getting cooler - the settings were the same as yesterday (never shut it off), but now I can feel air coming through and they seem to work again. Hmm...

I guess I'll have to keep an eye on it, maybe an intermittent problem or maybe they get disabled for some reason?

Regardless - I still love this truck!

The seats simply use a fan to move the ambient air (from under the seat) through the seats and perforated leather surface. I have found air temperature / humidity and clothing can make a difference in the perception of coolness.

OK, now it's starting to make sense - I was under the impression they actually blow cool air - they just circulate it though.

Had first real experience yesterday using the ventilated seats and doesn't seem to move much air at highest setting and I can hear the fan when turned on. Same issue today. Does air come through just the bottom or lower back as well? If you lay a paper on the seat should it move it at all to show air flowing? I don't get any movement when laying paper down. Could anything be blocking the airflow as I can't see under the seat very well. Thx

May not be an issue on a newer vehicle, but some of the higher end toyota/Lexus came with seat filters. May want to check the manual and see if it has them.

Mine are a joke.

One thing that I have found that helps the air to feel cooler is to make sure the AC vents for the front are set to dash and floor and to run the rear air as well. That said, if I am wearing a fairly heavy material like denim jeans, I really do not feel the air flow .... In my work day khakis, yes I do.

In my experience, the air is not really noticeable ... But if you ride in a rig without ventilated seats (like my 80) then jump on the 200, you will notice a difference - subtle but noticeable

As mentioned above but here is the trick. Have A/C on and rear air on and u will feel strong cold air coming through. Very nice! If rear air is off I don't feel it.

Mine work but nowhere as well as my wife's RX350 - I will have to look into the seat filters.

Mine work great. You can feel the air coming out with your hand. You can hear them turn on as well. If you turn them on, and hear the fans, and don't feel anything, then you probably have a leaking hose or seat material blockage.

no help here but I found them useful to control my side cameras (L and R), this was an afterthought as I messed up a brand new indicator stalk during my installation of a micro switch...no more heating/cooling but the process is reversible of course

The key words in the e-mail ... "ventilated seats in your" .... they are ventilated, but not very well cooled :bang:

Just took this Toyota ventilated seat survey. I gave them feedback on the airflow and efficiency of the system. I also made a comment that this feature should be for all passenger seats not just front seats. I am sure they will gladly ignore that comment.

Yes I'm sure they will ignore them... my comment was if there was an improvement made then there better be a TSB! :) But on the other hand they must have received quite a bit of feedback if they are going to put a survey out there just on the ventilated seats. No mention of the heat portion.
