I have some Peak Extended life here in front of me I bought for a intake gasket job on a 99 GMC. IT says it is Silicate free, Nitrate free, Phosphate free and Borate free.

Ingredients:
Ethylene GLycol (107-21-1)
Diethyline Glycol ( 111-46-6)
Water
Sodium Benzoate (532-32-1)

Just for more info. I don't use the stuff personally.

Organic Acid Salt (532-32-1)... Toyota Red
Sodium Benzoate (532-32-1)... Peak Extended Life

Same stuff.

1310-58-3 is Potassium Hydroxide in Ethanol and the MSDS says it's pretty nasty stuff. Poison, highly flammable, and causes blindness if you splash it in your eyes.

Add eye protection to the "How To Change Coolant" posts!!!

So for those of you that reccomend changing it every year, are you reccomending flushing it every year, or just drain and fill as long as you are staying with the same coolant.

I do a complete flush.
Sean
There is never enough money to do it right the first time, but always enough to do it twice.

Flush every year is my new philosophy... anything to ward off the dreaded HG virus.

I called the Toyota Dealer and asked what they add to the coolant? They said they use tap water. They said it is ok to use tap water.
