Coolant Leak

Posting this thread with the chance of sounding like an idiot. I've got a coolant leak on my 1991 right now that only happens on two conditions-
1) The car has been turned off for at least 5 minutes
2) My coolant overflow bottle has coolant in it
I attached a video below, and obviously this hose needs to be replaced, but thinking it could potentially be the water pump leaking too? I can't really see where it's coming from except a general area. I'm hung up because I don't know why i'm only getting a leak with those two conditions. I'm not having any overheating or anything, but i'm tired of dumping coolant every time I park it. I would just think that if the water pump was leaking, it would be doing it all the time, not just when my coolant overflow is filled and the car is off.

I can’t tell from the video (great flexibility BTW) but the hose looks severely swollen. Even before watching the video, my thought was if coolant is leaving the overflow then I would start with the overflow. Is the over flow tank cracked?

Second the hose being swollen, I would definitely change them.

Wow, that hose looks like a balloon! Be sure you replace with the right I.D. size of hose. It's tempting to get a cheaper hose, but if it just slides on easily - it'll probably leak. Also, your overflow bottle needs to have coolant in it continuously, meaning with cold engine, it should be at the marked level. That gives room for expansion of coolant at operating temp and will return to that marked level overnight.

She's gonna blow!! The answer is right there, that hose that is coming apart internally and getting ready to pop.

Haha long skinny fingers come in handy from time to time. The overflow isn't cracked, i pulled it and watched to make sure nothing was dripping. The weirdest part of this all is I got it pressure tested and no coolant came out with the test

you coolant overflow should have coolant at the max. line regarless. The fact that you have leaks present when the engine is cooled means time to replace coolant hoses when needed or tighten up the hose clamps.. I would start with that first. Next time your replace rediator, new hoses , thermostat or WP, clean up the front cover so you can tell where the leak is coming from.

Okay, I think i've narrowed it down to this hose that is circled in BLUE feeding into the water pump. Can anyone help me identify the part number for this hose? Worse comes to worse I can use generic hose, but it has a bend so I'd rather have the OEM part. I looked at all the diagrams, and I can't figure out for the life of me what this hose is called

Ah man, from what i can tell maybe the last one because it has that little bend back on the left side. But i feel like it doesn't hook up to the radiator. This may be a stupid question, but do all radiator hoses hook directly onto the radiator?

only 2 main hoses, the top hoses from thermostat to radiator, the bottom hose from radiator to a cross pipe into the block. The hose you mentioned is the section between the cross pipe to the block

Anyone have an idea of the easiest way to get to the hose? I know I’m likely going to have to take off all the belts and power steering/ ac but wanted to double check before I rip into it if there wasn’t an easier way

i dont recall removing AC compressor, but definitely all the belts and most ;likely waterpump as well.

Finally got my replacement radiator hose #2. It looks pretty even length on each side of the bend, which side goes onto the water pump?? One side is marked with a yellow dot and one side is marked with a white line
