i have a small leak that appears to be coming out of a hole just under the crankshaft Pully. Is this where the coolant leaks from as water pumps start to fail? I had my timing belt and water pump done 40k miles ago. Can anybody confirm where the source of this leak is?

Are you sure it's coolant? It's not pink and it looks oily? You can see in this thread (around post 17) where the water pump sits in relation to your photos.

I agree ^^ @Sandroad looks oily. Need to see a picture of each side to make sure it's not coming from above harmonic balance (large pulley).

But that is weep hole from time belt area. Either oil from seals (cams or crank) or water pump is leaking.

I like to clean any leak real good with degrease. Then watch to pinpoint as it begin to seep again.

Probably some shop used a cheap coolant? or 10 % of ethylene glycol and 90% water?

You can gently open one of the cam covers and inspect the cam sprocket and belt. With a flash light you can see the water pump too. This is what I did to check the condition of the timing belt as soon as I bought my cruiser.

Thanks for the quick responses. It is antifreeze (cheap green stuff) for sure. If I get bored tomorrow I may start tearing thee front end apart and find the source. I'd rather pay to have it done, but then again it's been a while since I had some fun working on something. If I tear it down I'll get some more pics and share to confirm my findings. Thanks again

Need to be sure to swap that coolant out for Toyota red.
