Most people here have the 5.7 and while this issue isn’t exactly common, it’s not super rare either. If you search for “valley plate” or “valley” leak in general you might find more posts. Toyota recommends a very specific sealant for this job and it is generally considered a good idea to follow that advice.

Oh thanks so this is the same valley leak! I wonder why toyota didn’t mention it, they said they’ll have to “reseal heat exchanger” but since they charge a lot, i took it to a local garage and opened it up. Ordered that specific silicone seal and also changing the gaskets, maybe pcv valve too. Anything else I should look for?

On US vehicles we have to be careful not to break the air injection system but it looks like your engine doesn’t have that hardware. Beyond that I can’t think of any work that is good to combine.

I believe this leak affects the UR engine in general and not specific to the 3UR (5.7). The 1UR (4.6) is also affected. We have that motor here in the states in the GX460.

It's probably less due to the design, and more due to the factory sealant used on the heat exchanger. Make sure you use the proper Three-Bond 1282B seal packing when re-sealing.

Thankyou both.

I asked them to check the coolingsystems and change any pumps if necessary.

It’s something not so common overhere within the LC community in Dubai afaik. But the mechanic said he repaired the same leak in an fjcruiser and a tundra before.
