Over the past month I've noticed a loss of coolant in the reservoir, at first it was slow and no sign of a leak but over the last week I've noticed a small puddle(maybe cup holder size). The reservoir is now empty after a couple of days. Attached are pictures I just took. I do not see dripping from anywhere higher, it seems like the leak is right around the area of the droplets.

I just had the trans rebuilt around 1500 miles ago. Since it appears that the leak is coming from around where the trans meets the bell housing. Is it possible that this is due to an something being incorrectly put back together or damaged when the trans was rebuilt? Any help is appreciated.

There are a few connections that could be bumped while doing a transmission. I would start at the firewall where the heater core is and trace where each line goes very carefully. Trace the two lines going underneath the truck as well which may have been damaged and are dripping or spraying.

I just replaced my rear heater bypass connector on my truck which the previous owner damaged at some point. The gasket was also ripped and was leaking. Didnt leak much but had to top off the level every now and then. Heater T 's in good shape?

Good luck

I second what @sean2202 asked about the heater T's. They are above the bell housing at the rear of the engine and may be hard to see a leak in them if looking from below. If they were leaking, it could show up right where your photos show red. Double check those before you go further (literally and figuratively) because they are known weak point in older and higher mileage trucks.

Thanks for the replies. I changed the heater hose T's 15k ago and saw no sign of them leaking today when checking.

FWIW...I've smelled antifreeze for the last 6 months but no trace of a leak. Until now...both upper and lower plastic tanks on the radiator are leaking. Very minor, but I have noticed a slight coolant level drop.

I would imagine it was just steam at first that I was smelling. Anyway...good luck with a resolution.
