Awesome. I cant wait to see how it turns out.

Have you driven that thing yet? I thought my down time was bad...

Think of all the gas you could have been consuming!!!!
thanks for the write up.:beer::beer::beer:

I got the red from my 2006 Suzuki SV. And the paint I'm using is from Devoe. I think thats how you spell it. And it's a polyurethane Industrial coating. They use the stuff in oil refineries to coat the insides of the holding tanks. It's a 2 part single stage 4:1 (paint:activator) and it comes in a 1 gallon kit from ICI paints. You have to use m.e.k to reduce it out. And alot of m.e.k. at that. The stuff is super thick. To get it to lay like car paint figure on a gallon of mek for a gallon of the paint. I used that stuff for 2 reasons. #1- my brother-in-law works for ICI so I got a deal and #2- I live in ohio where salt eats everything away, so I've got my truck coated in this stuff top and bottom. It took a TON of work to knock that salmon color down due to how tough this paint is so when I did I filled 90% of all the seams and sealed up the floor plugs. So I'm 99% all sealed up on the body shell. I did it more for rust protection but it's nice to know I'll be able to take on streams and such if and when I want to. I didnt take pics of any of that but it was one of those do it now cause you cant do it later things kinda things. Glad I did. lost another month of down time by doing it but gain a few decades for the life of my truck.

Thanks for all the positive comments. I never post in forums and glad I did. Every time I would get burnt out on this project or crap would pop up out a no where and side line it, I would look through it and get a 2nd or in this case 200th wind. And I thought what they hay, I love checking out other peoples post that have cool projects and has lots of pics so I'm bet I'm not alone.

Same story, always busy and truck comes last. Haven't been on here in a while, but, I've been putting it back together a little here and a little there. It looks like a Land cruiser again. Next time I'm working on it I'll snap some pics of it. I'm stuck on a back bumper at the moment. I'm gonna make it myself just figuring out what I want out of it.

wish I had your skills. I've been working on a simple repaint for a month! Can't get myself to pull the trigger to lay the final paint but you have given me some inspiration.

...My flairs were busted up pretty good and no flairs isnt an option for me. I'm gonna glass them right on the fenders, doors and qtrs. I dont trail it at all so i dont have to worry about cracking them up. Thats on tomorrows list so I should have those pics up soon...

Circinus,
Were you still planning to fiberglass your flares straight to the fenders/doors? I didn't see any pics of this. Did you abort that idea?
I do wheel my truck and would be weary of doing this, but I really like the idea...:beer:

The day I got it, and here it is today! I still have a bumper to make and paint the mirrors and a few other odds and ends but I drove her today on the roads in over a year and my baby just purrrred. Happy with how it turned out.

Just found this thread. I like the work you did. Wondering if you have a picture of it all done?
